The Princess Royal and Matt Baker to Attend the 140th Lincolnshire Show

If you’re looking for a fun-filled family day out this June, then the Lincolnshire Show is one to mark in your diary. Taking place on Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th June 2025, this iconic event is returning for its 140th year, and it promises to be a truly special celebration of Lincolnshire life.

Matt Baker

This year, the Show is proud to welcome Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, who will be attending on the Wednesday. The Princess has strong ties to the event, having previously served as President of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society and now holding Lifetime Membership. On the Thursday, much-loved TV presenter Matt Baker MBE – known for Blue Peter, Countryfile and The One Show – will also be making an appearance, much to the delight of fans and families alike.

What’s New for 2025?

Knights of Middle England

There’s a lot to get excited about this year! One of the standout new features is a brand-new Main Ring act from the Knights of Middle England – a team of professional stunt riders and performers who’ll be delivering an action-packed, medieval-inspired show that’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

The newly introduced Rural Voices Stage is another welcome addition, designed to shine a light on countryside life through engaging panel discussions and expert networking sessions. It’s a brilliant opportunity for those working in agriculture, land management or sustainability to connect, share ideas and learn more about the future of British farming.

And good news for families – the ever-popular Lincolnshire Show Beach is back, complete with real sand from the Lincolnshire coast, and the Garden Show is returning too, both bigger and better than ever.

Family Favourites Return

Shetland Pony Grand National

Of course, no Lincolnshire Show would be complete without some of its beloved classics. Visitors can look forward to:

  • The adorable Shetland Pony Grand National
  • The inspiring LAS Schools’ Challenge
  • The colourful Floral Arts Competition
  • And heart-warming visits from the four-legged stars of Jerry Green Dog Rescue

This really is a show that offers something for everyone.

Taste Lincolnshire

If you’re a foodie (like me!), you’ll love the Lincolnshire Kitchen where local chefs will be running live cooking demos and masterclasses. And don’t miss out on the delicious local produce available throughout the event – including from favourites like F.A.B and Good Grub Co. at Stockman’s Bar.

A Show Rooted in Lincolnshire’s Heritage

The Princess Royal

Organised by the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society (LAS), the show celebrates the county’s deep agricultural roots. With over 4,500 farms in the region and a long-standing farming tradition, this event brings the countryside to life in the most vibrant way.

Around 60,000 people are expected to attend across the two days – including 6,000 school children, over 500 exhibitors, and a whopping 2,500 animals. Set just four miles from Lincoln city centre at the spacious Lincolnshire Showground, it’s a brilliant opportunity to enjoy the best of the county all in one place.

As Charlotte Powell, Chief Executive of the LAS, puts it:

“The Lincolnshire Show is always a significant event for the county, but it feels extra special this time as we celebrate our 140th Show.

“It will be an absolute pleasure and honour to welcome Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal and Matt Baker MBE as guests for this year’s Show, as we once again celebrate all things Lincolnshire with tens of thousands of visitors.

“There will be familiar favourites, new attractions, exhibitors offering tasty local food and drink, and activities for all the family to enjoy. Whether it’s the vast range of farm animals and competitions that pique your interest, or the jaw-dropping displays and demonstrations, the 2025 Lincolnshire Show has something for everyone!”

And the best part? All proceeds from ticket sales go directly back into the LAS charity work, supporting their Education Programme and funding future events.
